Shore Medical Center has recognized Radiology Tech Aide Matt Wimer from Egg Harbor Township as its July Guardian Angel of the Month. The announcement highlights Wimer’s dedication to patient care, which led a grateful patient to make a donation in his honor through the hospital’s Guardian Angel program.
Wimer began working in Shore Medical Center’s Radiology Department in January 2025 after serving as a patient transporter for several years. Known for his commitment to patients and colleagues, he consistently goes beyond expectations.
Courtney Humphrey, Director of Diagnostic Imaging at Shore Medical Center, praised Wimer: “Matt genuinely cares for his patients and strives to ensure their comfort while in his care. He maintains a lighthearted demeanor with his patients in order to ease some of the anxiety that being in a hospital may bring. He is quick with the ‘dad jokes’ and enjoys making his patients smile.”
A patient who recently honored Wimer with a Guardian Angel donation shared their experience: “I was admitted to the hospital for my very first time and both my husband and I were very frightened. I had the pleasure of being transported from test to test by Matt. Matt was warm, bubbly, funny, kind, gentle and made my husband and I feel like we were family.”
The Guardian Angel program at Shore Medical Center allows community members to express gratitude toward caregivers by making donations on their behalf. Recognized individuals receive acknowledgment among peers and are awarded a pin during an annual ceremony.
