Shore Medical Center has named Alisa Burke, RN, BSN, as its July Employee of the Month. Burke is the Intensive Care Unit Clinical Supervisor and has been recognized for her exceptional service and alignment with the organization’s mission.

Burke, who resides in Pleasantville, joined Shore Medical Center in 2015. She initially worked as a nurse on the 5 Stainton Unit before transitioning to the ICU. For the past three years, she has served as Clinical Supervisor there.

Jennifer Young, RN, manager of ICU and telemetry at Shore Medical Center, commended Burke’s leadership skills and dedication to mentoring new staff members. “Alisa’s attention to detail allows her to solve problems quickly and effectively. She truly enjoys guiding and educating new staff, and she often volunteers to work with new nurse aides and health unit coordinators to help them feel welcome and become part of the ICU team,” said Young.

In addition to her role at Shore Medical Center, Burke is pursuing a Master’s degree in Nursing Education at Walden University. She aims to teach clinical courses in the future.

Reflecting on her work environment at Shore Medical Center, Burke expressed appreciation for teamwork: “I love the teamwork and the people at Shore. I feel trusted by my colleagues, and I take pride in being someone they can turn to for support. Whether it’s responding to codes on other floors or teaching newer staff, I’m passionate about helping others grow and feel confident in their roles.”

Outside of her professional responsibilities, Burke engages in strength training at the gym while managing her graduate studies.
