Shore Medical Center has selected Stephanie Kramer, RN, as its April Employee of the Month. Kramer, a clinical informaticist, was recognized for her service and alignment with the organization’s core principles.
Kramer’s work involves integrating her nursing background with information technology to enhance the use of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. This role is pivotal in improving both healthcare delivery and patient outcomes through more efficient EMR operations.
Based in Longport, Kramer has been part of Shore Medical Center since 1991, starting as a laboratory technician. She earned her nursing degree in 1993, followed by nearly two decades in various nursing roles within the organization. Her transition to IT began in 2011 when she became a ‘super user’ of the EMR system. She officially joined the IT department in 2012 and completed her Master’s in Nursing in 2014.
Jeremy Albergo, the IT Business Delivery Manager, emphasized the importance of clinical informatics in modern healthcare. According to Albergo, “Stephanie excels in this critical field, ensuring our nurses and physicians have the necessary tools and technology to provide the highest quality care.” Albergo noted that Kramer’s abilities in implementing and understanding healthcare systems meet daily challenges and contribute to workflow optimization and patient safety.
Kramer balances her professional life with family, as a mother to four sons: Ethan, Wyatt, Owen, and Luke. The family enjoys skiing and traveling together.
