Stockton University recognized students for their academic accomplishments, leadership, and contributions to the community at the second annual Rising STAR Awards Ceremony held on April 14.

The event, hosted by the Student Transition, Access and Retention (STAR) branch of Student Affairs, highlighted the efforts of various offices including Career Education & Development, Military & Veteran Success Center, Academic Achievement Programs, Student Transition Programs, Cultural Engagement Ospreys (CEO), and the Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) program.

Students from several programs received awards for their dedication. The Academic Achievement Programs office honored participants from First Ospreys, Sankofa (S.O.U.L.), TogetHER and Success Scholars with awards such as the Sankofa Award given to Alexander Delacruz, Jason Diggs and Richard Galeana Galan. Lovena Agyei and Shaianne Allen received the TogetHER H.E.A.R.T. Award. Additional recognitions included honors for career ambassadors like Gianna Balut in Career Education & Development and Joshua Corsentino who received the CEO Leadership Award.

The EOF program celebrated its graduating students with awards recognizing valedictorians Abby Crawley (Atlantic City) and Julia Daino (Galloway), along with other distinctions such as Spirit of EOF awarded to Ruth Ovil and Genesis Rincon. Military-affiliated students were acknowledged during a coining ceremony that commemorated their ongoing service both in academia and beyond.

TALONS—student leaders guiding new Stockton students—were also recognized for their impact on orientation programs through awards like TALONS Team Player presented to Jessica Gibbs. Across all categories, dozens of students were listed as honorees for their engagement throughout campus life.

The Rising STAR Awards Ceremony reflects Stockton University’s commitment to supporting student success through diverse programs that promote leadership development, academic achievement, professional growth opportunities and community involvement.
