Cost of college went up for resident students at Atlantic Cape Community College

In-state tuition and fees rose 0.4 percent for 2018-19 at Atlantic Cape Community College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

New Jersey residents paid $6,318 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $27 more than the $6,291 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 23.7 percent more than residents this year, or $7,818. Their price tag was reduced 0.4 percent from $7,851 in 2017-18.

About 99 percent of the school's undergraduate population are New Jersey residents. And about 1 percent are residents of other states.

Data shows 77 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 625 students received grants or scholarships totaling $3.5 million and 110 students took out student loans totaling more than $530,027.

Including all undergraduates (4,973), 3,077 students used grants or scholarships totaling $13.8 million, and 767 students took out $4 million in federal student loans.
