Atlantic Highlands Arts Council issued the following announcement.
VIRTUAL ARTIST TALK! David D. Oquendo's current work features a unique and mysterious script which he named "METAPHRASE" - a new and deeply personal language he crafted in prints, sculptures, large installations and other multi-media. David is also a member of the Leonides Arts Collective along with Seth Ruggles Hiler and Ricardo Francis - both also in this show. We often think of art as a solitary pursuit, but much of David's work is deeply collaborative. Let David walk you through his pieces in this show and share insights into the many collaborative elements of his creative process. In David's words, “As an artist I sometimes feel like I have to create every little part of my work, or else it isn’t mine. The Metaphrase calligraphy project really encouraged me to reach out and ask for help when I needed it.” Come meet David and learn more about his fascinating work on Saturday night from 6-8 PM at our show opening.
