The Favorite Foods Show is back!

The Favorite Foods Show is back!  It will be held on Saturday, November 19, at the Moravian Church in Egg Harbor City.  Attached you will find an entry form and rules.

Once you submit your registration form, you will receive a confirmation letter with further instructions.  Here are a few tips:

1 – You must be a registered 4-H member by November 1.

2 – You will need to supply EVERYTHING you need, such as ingredients (make sure to tape over or black out the brand names), measuring cups/spoons, bowls, knives, cutting boards, spatulas, pots/lids, skillets, baking sheets, extension cord, apron, hair tie, etc. (Dish soap, sponges, dish towels are provided for cleanup). If you would like a copy of PowerPoint notes for a suggested list of items and other helpful hints for set-up, etc. please contact the 4-H Office with your email address.

4 – An apron MUST be worn by all participants and hair MUST be tied back. Refer to enclosed General Rules for additional clothing requirements/suggestions.

5 – This is a 2-part event: prepared dish and daily menu using My Plate guidelines. You must do both parts.  My Plate can be found here: https://www.myplate.gov/

6 – Practice makes perfect!  Practice and prepare your dish at home a few times before the contest. This will help you work out the timing and kinks, and give you practice for what to say to the judges for the public speaking portion.

7 – Participation in the Favorite Foods Show counts as a public speaking requirement.

8 – Entry forms are due in the 4-H Office by November 7 – no exceptions.  Late forms will not be accepted.    Questions?  Call the 4-H Office at (609) 625-0056 or email kdyitt@njaes.rutgers.edu or goldberg_patricia@aclink.org
