Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Initiatives

• Listening Sessions: The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office will host numerous listening sessions throughout Atlantic County to introduce and explain policies, interact, and communicate with all members of the community.

• Atlantic County Special Needs Registry: The Atlantic County Special Needs Registry is a joint collaboration between the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office and all other law enforcement agencies in Atlantic County. The goal of the Special Needs Registry is to ensure all Atlantic County residents with special needs are able to get the help and support they need in a time of emergency or during interaction with law enforcement, fire, or EMS personnel.

• ACPO Diversity, Equity, Inclusion (DEI) Policy Development Task Force: The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office will be establishing a team comprised of a variety of community stakeholders to help develop the office’s DEI policy.

• Development of Community Outreach Division: The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office recognizes the need to build and support positive relationships with all residents and visitors of Atlantic County. The ACPO Community Outreach Unit (COU) will serve as the main source of content development and programming to address the numerous and ever-changing needs and issues that arise within this community on a regular basis.

• Immigration Trust: The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office shall continue to conduct public seminars to explain the Immigration Trust directive. The purpose of the directive is to explain to immigrant residents and citizens what the role of municipal and county law enforcement is during investigations as opposed to the roles of federal immigration authorities.

• Promoting Diversity in Law Enforcement Recruitment and Hiring: The ACPO has and shall continue to establish programs consistent with OAG guidelines to identify underrepresented groups and take action to address any underrepresentation to ensure the agency is comprised of law enforcement officers who reflect the diversity of the community that the agency is charged with protecting.
