Jen Pierce, co-founder and general manager of Clay's Climate Control said that the company donates to many local charities. Clay's Climate Control was just acquired by Ace Hardware in August.
"My husband and I, Clay Pierce, founded the company in 2001," Jen said in an interview with the Atlantic County Times. "Clay was doing heating and air conditioning for a living, and he and I decided to start our own company, thinking that we could kind of elevate the experience of customers in the trades and provide career opportunities for those in our community."
Jen said that the company offers installation and maintenance services to customers in Linwood, N.J., and the surrounding areas. On the company's website, there is a note from Clay that they have grown from one truck to an entire fleet. The company recently expanded its offerings to include services such as generator installations and dryer duct cleaning.
The company is focused on giving to their local community, including donating to many charitable causes. "Clay's Cares" lists the groups and foundations Clay's Climate Control has given to. Last year, Clay’s Climate Control made a $1,000 donation to South Jersey Field of Dreams, a $500 donation to Spread the Love Foundation, and a $250 donation to The Hansen Foundation, Inc. In October of this year, they are giving one local first responder a free furnace and installation in honor of National First Responders Day.
"We generally give to our community quite often, whether it's through the local schools or other associations, but one that has stood out for a long time now that we donate a lot to is CASA of Atlantic and Cape May County," Jen said.
Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for Children of Atlantic, Cape May, and Camden Counties provides trained volunteers for children that are removed from abusive or neglectful homes to ensure their well-being. These advocates go on to serve as the child's voice in court, making recommendations that affect their medical, educational, and psychological welfare. Family court judges uphold these recommendations 93% of the time. CASA advocates work to prioritize the child's best interests and help them find a permanent home, be it through reunification, adoption, or placement with relatives.
In August 2023, Clay's Climate Control was acquired by Ace Hardware, according to the company's website. It was noted that the company is eager to now grow Clay's with Ace and continue to support the local community.
