"I want to be absolutely clear: Medicare, Social Security, and Medicaid must always be protected," stated Congressman Van Drew. "These programs are lifelines for our seniors, individuals with disabilities, and working families, and I will never support cuts to them."

Van Drew also addressed concerns about government spending inefficiencies. He pointed out issues related to wasteful expenditure in various sectors. "At the same time, we must address the rampant waste, fraud, and abuse in our government. Billions of taxpayer dollars are being mismanaged," he said.

He called for a precise approach to rectify these inefficiencies without affecting essential services. "We need a careful, targeted approach to root out this waste. As I have said before, these cuts should be made with a scalpel, not a sledgehammer."

The congressman reassured citizens about the government's efficiency drive while maintaining benefits for those entitled to them. "I know these fast changes can be overwhelming," he noted.

Van Drew explained that recent budget resolutions were non-binding frameworks aimed at long-term savings without immediate impact on critical programs. He mentioned President Trump's stance against cutting these programs as part of ongoing discussions.
