Congressman Jeff Van Drew announced on April 21 that more than $1.4 million in federal funding will be allocated to airport improvement projects across South Jersey through the Federal Aviation Administration’s Airport Infrastructure Grant program.
The funding aims to support local airports by improving their safety, functionality, and sustainability. These investments are intended to help maintain essential infrastructure for communities in the region.
“These are the kinds of investments that keep South Jersey going,” said Congressman Van Drew. “Our local airports are used every day, and they need to be safe, functional, and able to support themselves. This money helps make that happen. The funding will go toward the final phases of the new hangars at the Millville and Ocean City airports and the new taxiway at the Woodbine airport, helping bring these airports up to standard and keep them running the way they should. I will keep fighting for these kinds of investments because they make a real difference for our communities.”
According to Van Drew, funds from this grant will specifically support completing new hangars at both Millville and Ocean City airports as well as a new taxiway at Woodbine airport.
The announcement reflects ongoing efforts by local officials to secure resources that enhance transportation infrastructure throughout South Jersey.
