Congressman Jeff Van Drew has announced that the Medal of Honor Act has been signed into law by President Trump. The legislation will increase the annual special pension provided to recipients of the Medal of Honor.
In a statement, Congressman Van Drew said, “Our Medal of Honor recipients put everything on the line for this country. They went far beyond the call of duty, and the least we can do is make sure they are taken care of. These heroes are the heart and soul of America. We live freely because of people like them. We still have a lot of work ahead of us to make sure our veterans are taken care of, but this is a step in the right direction. I am proud to be a sponsor of this bill, and I am glad to see it finally become law.”
