Congressman Jeff Van Drew has released a statement addressing concerns about Hurricane Erin and its possible effects on the South Jersey coastline.

“My office is keeping a close eye on Hurricane Erin as it moves up the East Coast,” said Congressman Van Drew. “Right now, the storm is expected to stay offshore, but we all know how quickly conditions can change, so we are making sure South Jersey is ready no matter what. I have already been in touch with the administration and federal agencies so that if there is any damage along our shore, we will have the resources and support we need right away. Protecting our coastline and communities has always been one of my top priorities, and I will continue working to ensure our beaches stay strong. In the meantime, please follow local guidance and stay safe as the storm passes.”

Van Drew emphasized ongoing communication with federal officials to coordinate resources in case Hurricane Erin causes any damage in coastal areas.

The congressman urged residents to monitor official instructions as weather conditions may shift rapidly.
