The Atlantic Prosecutor’s Office attended and supported AtlantiCare during their 2022 Homeless Persons’ Memorial Vigil on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 in Atlantic City, NJ at the AtlantiCare HealthPlex. The event focused on providing care, support, and immediate resources to our areas’ most vulnerable people. Prosecutor Reynolds and Sheriff Scheffler discussed their collaborative efforts to launch a 7 day a week mobile outreach unit in 2023 to provide direct services to individuals suffering from mental illness, substance dependence, and lack of employment and housing. AtlantiCare’s, Vinnie Kirkland, shared personal testimony and inspired the crowd of almost 100 people. The theme for the event was that we all have a responsibility to help those in need when we have the opportunity.
