Washington, DC - Congressman Van Drew expressed approval for President Trump's recent executive order that halts offshore wind leasing and permitting. The directive also instructs the Department of the Interior to assess current leases and their ecological, economic, and environmental impacts.

"The executive order President Trump signed last night to halt offshore wind projects includes much of the language we provided," stated Congressman Van Drew. He emphasized President Trump's consistent opposition to these projects and appreciated his support. "The president has always been a vocal critic of these disastrous scams, and we are grateful for his unwavering support."

Van Drew criticized foreign corporations involved in offshore wind projects, accusing them of disregarding various concerns including national security and energy costs. "These companies, aided by politicians willing to subsidize their failures with taxpayer dollars, were determined to force wind energy on us," he said.

He mentioned frequent discussions with President Trump regarding this issue and noted collaboration on crafting the language for the executive order. "For those of us who care about protecting our oceans and wildlife, and for hardworking Americans already struggling with rising energy costs, this is a significant victory," he added.

Van Drew concluded by asserting that the efforts against these projects were worthwhile: "These projects were terrible from the start, and this fight has been worth every effort—for America!"
